Padel and surf are the perfect Bali couple because they want different hours of your day. Surf wants the dawn glass and the tide window; padel wants golden hour, when the heat breaks and the courts come alive. Between them sits a long Bali afternoon of food, pools, and doing nothing well. Here is the week.

The base

Stay in the Canggu–Berawa corridor: surf breaks on your doorstep, the island’s densest court cluster around the corner, and walking-distance dinners. Splitting the week with Uluwatu upgrades the surf and downgrades the padel — do it only if the swell forecast begs.

The shape of the week

Day 1 — Arrive, unpack, golden-hour open match. Book it before you fly; nothing beats jet lag like a match.

Day 2 — Dawn surf, sunset padel. The template day. If it works, repeat until the flight home.

Day 3 — Surf lesson or bigger break, padel social night. Most clubs run evening Americano-style socials — the fastest way into the local scene. [FOUNDER: confirm current social nights per club.]

Day 4 — The recovery day. Massage, pool, rice-terrace drive or Ubud run. Shoulders are a shared resource between the two sports; spend this day or lose day six.

Day 5 — Dawn surf, afternoon coaching block. An hour of padel coaching mid-trip beats two hours on day one — you have match data to fix.

Day 6 — Big morning, tournament-style evening. Chase the swell, then book the prime-time court with your week’s regulars.

Day 7 — Glass-off farewell match, pack, promise to return. Leave the spare balls with the local crew.

The doctrine

— Never schedule both sports before noon. The heat decides, not you.

— Hydration is a job. Two sports in the tropics is a beautiful, sweaty madness — electrolytes morning and evening.

— Book courts one to two days ahead for golden hour; dawn surf needs no reservation, only an alarm.

Costs vary by season and club — check live court prices on the booking apps and current surf-lesson rates locally rather than trusting a printed number. The structure above survives any budget.
